Does anybody have a pic of a hypo butter for me? I don't remember seeing one ever and I wonder why..... wouldn't they be very bright yellow?

thanks!

I don't have a picture for you.
But wait till next breeding season, and I might post some pics of a hypo butter motley (with a little help from Murphy :grin01: )

Hey, I am thinking of getting me a male hypo for my butter female and then F2... now you'd be the first for sure, darn!

What are you breeding to get them , Joske ?
Always interested !! :crazy02:

I could get a butter motley female, would it make sense to buy a amber male and breed the offspring to get a hypo butter? (amber + butter = caramel het. for hypo and amel , what could cause in a hypo butter)

Since I never noticed a real difference in HypoButters compared to Butters, I wouldn't buy the Amber male. A safe way to produce HypoButters would be breeding two Hypo that are at least het. Amel, Caramel together.

Nope, Daniel (pewter) must have had HypoButters within the Sulfur project - there was difference in the Butters noticable. Thats why I don't think it is usefull to breed two het. Hypos to make HypoButters.

Well, in 2005 i bred an amel hypo het motley and anery A female with a caramel male (no known het's).
I expected normals het. amel, hypo, caramel, but it turned out that the male also got some nice hets.

The young included normals, hypo's, amel's, amel hypo's, hypo motley stripe and amel hypo motley's (striped?).

I kept some animals, and in 2007 I will breed:
- amel hypo stripe motley het. caramel possible anery A x hypo (stripe?) motley het. amel, caramel, possible anery A.
- amel hypo stripe motley het. caramel possible anery A x normal het. amel, hypo, motley, stripe, caramel, poss. anery A.

Ik hope to get amber motley (striped) and butter hypo motley (stripe) :)

Her some pics of the couple:

So these are amel motley hypo's? I don't see the amel....
On the last pic:
The head on the left is a amel hypo motley male (check the eyes)
The head on the right is a hypo motley female. (dark eyes)

Aw yes, I see now... but the amel hypo is pretty brownish then? Probably some yellow of the caramel gene showing, right?

Brownisch?
The amel hypo motley is more orange than brown in real life. But yes, they both are much more yellow because of the het. caramel.
