Hypo Lavender Blood?

ecreipeoj

Striped Topaz SK SG Free
I received this guy from Carlos Lahitte. I am very pleased with him. He is very unique and not quite like anything that I have seen before. His diffused pattern is very distinct. He is very light in coloration, but I am not sure if I would put him in the Cotton Candy Hypo group. He does have quite a bit of pink, which doesn’t show up well in these photos. Carlos thought that he may be a Hypo Lav Blood, but wasn’t sure because he had not seen one before. This one is much lighter than the one that Mike Panichi received from the same clutch, so it appeared to be a hypo to Carlos. There were two Hypo Bloods in the clutch as well, so the gene can be there as homo or het.

I am not sure what color to call his eyes. They are not black, and darker than ruby. They look like they may be dark purple. If you copy the photo to your computer and zoom in on the eye, they are dark purple. That is also my impression in person. That is not black dust on your screen either. He has a few random black scales here and there, which are similar to what I have seen in my Paradox Ice Ghost and Lava Lines.

I wanted a Lav Blood to breed to my Ice Lavenders in a few years. I didn’t want to put the Hypo gene in the mix with the Ice Lavenders (Lava Lavender), but I think the Ice Lavenders and Hypo Lavs could pass the brown bag test. I can only dream about what the Ice Lavender Bloods will look like. Hopefully, this will be the second step toward that goal.

A couple more shots. The side photo shows the diffused pattern well. He has some skull pattern, but not as much as some Bloods that I have. His over all look says Blood all the way. He has the typical Blood belly pattern of course.

Bloodred is my all time favorite morph. And you just bought it to mix with Ice Lavenders? LOL.. You should treasure that one just for being the coolest morph out there. ;)

I honestly do not think that this Lav Blood is Hypo, but I think a Hypo version of the Lav Blood would be your favorite Morph of Blood Marcel. I got a Hypo Blood possibly het for Lav with this guy and she is very pretty. I do not have a favorite morph yet and probably will always have a few that are in my top five. Bloods are certainly in my top five.

We all have to feed our inter child with our Corns in the way that it is best for each of us. For me, it is to see a new morph that has not been seen by anybody before because it did not exist. I got very lucky the Striped Lavenders, and I am very lucky to have discovered the Lava hypo within my colony.

When I produced the Lava Lavenders (Ice Lavenders) this year, my inter child was fed well. It meant a great deal more to me than the Striped Lavenders did or even the Ice Ghosts. Since the Bloods and Lava hypos morphs are in my top five list, this seemed like a natural combination. The Hypo Lavs are one of my favorite morphs at this time as well, but they are not as distinctive as adults as they are when they hatch. So far, I think the Ice Lavenders will not resemble Lavenders as adults, so I am hoping that this combo will be a very distinctive adult Morph of Bloodred Corns.

I do have other plans for this guy. He will get Hypo Lav, and Hypo Blood girlfriends as well. I have a couple of years to figure out which other girlfriends would be best for him. An Ultramel or Ultramel Blood would be a sweet combination. Considering that I had to give up my first born to get this guy, I had to have more plans for him than to just have him to justify the transaction. I wish I had a Striped Hypo Lav female for him, but I do not. That combo would be very interesting as well. I do have some Lav Motley females which will most likely become one of his girlfriends down the road.

Carlos, I wish that I could somehow get the enthusiasm that you have now back like I use to have.

Mike, Good luck with yours as well. A Cotton Candy Lav Blood will be snake candy for sure! We may pass out when we see them crawl out of their egg. We should have oxygen on hand just in case. LOL

I fed this guy yesterday and I have to say that I agree with Carlos’ position about whether or not he is a hypo. He sure is light, but not in the Cotton Candy group of hypos. I am unsure myself, since some Lavs can be very light. I guess I will find out when he is bred to a Hypo Lav down the road.

I look forward to seeing the Motley Bloods. I have always scoff at the idea to myself, since it will be difficult to distinguish which are true Motleys. I felt the same way about the Striped Bloods. I have changed my position on the Motley Bloods, now the I have a Striped Blood myself. They do have an extra bit of charisma to them that only Bloods have and mine is a Two Line Striped and not a Four Lined Stripe which seems to be something that distinguishes them apart. There is just something about Bloods that makes them special.

I guess I will have to introduce this guy to a Striped Lav female since I have some and see how the distinguished Two Lined Striped Lav Bloods look. There is more to the look that just the difference in the number of the stripes. It is something else too, which is hard to explain, except to say they just look distinguished!

Joe. You know that last season was the LAVA season for me.LOL
LavaX Bloodred het Anery
LavaX Caramel motley het butter
LavaX Anery motley het snow
LavaX Pewter
LavaX Lavender het opal
Lavax Charcoal (no luck this time).
LavaX Amelanistis Banded
So a lot of HOT stuff will be showing in the next seasons. LOL

One LITTLE mistake! I sell a guy one of my extra Lava Males and just look at the completion now. I guess the RACE is on!

I see that he went to a very good home and is very loved. I am very jealous of your Lava X Pewter project snakes. Good luck with them. I can’t wait to see an Ice Pewter! I wish somebody would post a photo of a Hypo Pewter!

Here is are my Lava Projects from 2004: It looks like 2006 may be the year of the LAVA.

Lava Okeetee X Striped Lavender
Lava Okeetee X Okeetee
Lava Okeetee X Butter Motley
Lava Okeetee X Lavender het Amel
Lava Okeetee X Blood het Anery
Ice X Snow Motley
Ice X Anery Striped.

LOL.LOl. I know how to take advance of the opportunities, I ended up with 156 normal multyple het keepers this season.
I have the same plans for the Ultra next season, but first I want to see what is going on with then.
Do you ever see a Banded Hypo lavender? LOL. Wait for next season.

that is a very nice lookig corn there Joe

One day I would have to get myself a lavender bloodred

I can't wait until that day comes~~

Here are my freshly shed photos. I am beginning to believe this guy is a HYPO Lavender Bloodred. He is gaining a great deal of pink coloration and his eyes are now blue with ruby irises.

I also compared him to one of Rich’s photos of his Hypo Lav Bloods and they look very similar.

Carlos i have not met you before but i really enjoy what you have on you list of "future" projects. i was wondering how i would be able to keep in touch with you about what you will have available, and when, so that i don't miss out.

great stuff gentleman:

Very nice Joe. Is this the one from your Avatar?
Hi Marcel,
The snake in my Avatar is a female Lava Lavender (Ice Lavender) when she was hatching. Believe it or not, I prize them more than my Hypo Lav Blood, because I hatched them and they are the first of their kind. She is in this first photo at four months old. The male Lava Lav I hatched out is in the second photo. He is retaining more of his original pink coloration as many males do.

This female is one of the females that I will be breeding to the Hypo Lavender Blood male above to produce Hets for Lava Lav Bloods. It is probably unfortunate that the male is HYPO Lav Blood, because the offspring will also be het for Hypo. I did not want to mix up the two hypo gene, but I took what I could get. I think an Ice Lavender Blood will be a sweet combo!

It will be very nice that he is Hypo when bred to things such as Hypo Lavenders or Hypo Bloods. I have two of his sibling Hypo Bloods that are 66% chance het Lav, so I will be keeping my fingers crossed come the 06 breeding season.
