I am so stupid...

My baby snake Jethroe has gone missing, totally my fault, I feel dreadfull, I have been in floods of tears all morning. There are hundred of places he could have gone but my bet is he is under the floorboards , I have put his water on the floor with his heat mat and a hide on a crinkly bag near a likely looking floorboard hole and flour traps all around..... I will try bottle traps too, God I hope he turn up... just wish it would go dark.... :twohammer

Do you think a cat would eat a small cornsnake, I don't doubt she would kill it, (hope not, but my cat Lotty was sleeping in the same room as the open cage)

Although anything could have happened, try to remain positive. Put some pinkies around and make sure a water bowl is accessible. You never know when a lost one will turn up - I speak from experience.
Good Luck

Sorry to hear about your snake missing, I can only imagine how worried I will be. I am sure you will find him soon. Good luck to you.

Watch the cat too - that's how I found my escaped hatchling. Kitty probably won't eat it but may kill it while 'playing.'
Good luck.

Thanks everyone, i am wrecked, I dont think puss would have eaten him either, I'm going to stay up all night tonight and watch....

No news I'm afraid Jethroe is still AWOL, my brother has taken the floor up but no sign of him, I have but water bowls his heat mat and hides on the floor and a bottle with a pinky in and loads of mouse poo, I stayed awake for the last two nights but I will have to sleep tonight. I am beginning to think the cat may have had a £30 meal, I won't give up yet though, I still terribly upset at my stupidity... Thanks for Caring, I will keep you updated

Oh Cindy, i am so sorry to hear what has happened. I have only just read this thread. Has he turned up yet?? Stay positive.....I'm sure he'll turn up for you.....

I think if your cat would have gotten to it you would see signs, my cat would kill small snakes but not eat it.

I would be in trouble if one of mine got out with all the crap I have around. Remember to check up too, heat rises.

No sign of my missing snake, it has been two and a half weeks now, I have left water and bottle traps out and flour trails all around but nothing, The cat is still very much suspect number one. Has anyone lost such a young snake (3 months old) and found it weeks later? Would it be wrong to find a 'use' for the empty viv.....!!?

Yup............I 'lost' a hatchling (born Sept '99) in the December of the same year (i.e. approx. 3 months of age).

She made an appearance in the March of the following year!

As she was near to the 5' x 2' x 2' Tropical fish tank, when found, I presume that she went a.w.o.l. & brumated under the (rather extensive) tank stand.

She did not suffer any ill health from this experience..........it was I, like you, who had apoplexy looking for her.

Here she is now:

Thanks, that is very reassuring to know, I will keep putting water down just in case. I will let you know if I have any luck.
