Scheduled Feedings

Hi Marcel,
That is just fantastic! I am using Excel to track everything now, but it starting to get very cumbersome and I am only at 10 snakes. I've been messing with filemaker pro, but what you have is done is far superior. The only thing on my wish list would be a feeding schedule of some sort. I feed all my snakes on different schedules, so one of the most handy features of my Excel sheet is a daily view of all my snakes that tells me who is scheduled for feeding - it saves me from having to check all the records every day. Thanks so much for all the work - you are an asset to snake owners everywhere!

Your idea is a great one but a similar program has already been created by a South African snake keeper/programer. It is called SnakeKeeper and you can find it at www.ancosoft.co.za. It is a great program!

I use your MPMorpher daily when considering mates for my snakes.
It is a great program...
I just printed out some data sheets I created on Excel so I can write the info down and record it back into the spreadsheet...but I wouold use something like this exclusively.

A section in the feeding data for prey weight would be a plus...I am looking forward to using a program like this...makes it easy to track all aspects of my collection in one searchable place.

Yeah, plus I just downloaded the evaluation copy for kicks and crashed it twice just entering the first record. It closes without saving of course so you lose everything you enter.

The other thing I didn't like about it in the 2 minutes I spent trying to enter one record twice before it crashed both times was that it requires you to give it a snake enclosure number. I don't have numbers on my enclosures and I don't want to measure them and enter them, so why force me to?

I just downloaded it to check it out...good thing I haven't even bothered to unzip it...I will just delete it and wait for Marcel to have a program available.
No point in using it if it won't save my info!!

We joke that I have a strong 'electrowhatever' field that fritzes out electronics. I rarely have a computer that works for long and I seem to be able to just sit down at a computer, press a button or click a link and the whole thing freezes solid and its head explodes. :blowup:

I would bet that many people do fine with the program, but I'm just informing you that if you lock it up, it just shuts down, no warning box, nothing. And you lose all info you are trying to type in.

Marcel, I can't wait to see your version.

What os are you using, not that I have any interest in that program, but to give it credit, as well as to warn others, you should say what your pc is running because the problem you described has, in my experience, ALMOST ALWAYS been a software compatability issue.

Hurley...I tried that program in the past, and it crashed on me, too (and I am typically good with computers!).

Marcel, I look forward to the Beta version! I'd love to test it out!

Ok, I have a first version available. Beta testers that are willing to do some testing for me please email me. I will sent you a Zip file of approx 1.5 MB. My Email is [email protected]. Please not that you are working with a Beta version. So when a full release comes it will not be compatible with your entered data. Any record you enter will be gone in a new version.

Yes, the first version has a lot of problems. I am already working on that. I will let you know when I have a new Beta version available. Please don't use this site not for any problems but email me directly.
