I spotted a baby ribbon snake in my pond, so I've been making occasional trips out to try to spot it again and formulate a plan to capture and remove it from the pond....on the way there ,I spotted a flash of a little snake scampering under a lawnmower....

I knew it wasn't the ribbon snake, but I also knew what it was.....Needless to say, it never stood a chance....I pounced on it like 1/5th of a second after I pushed the lawnmower out of the way.

This little baby Texas rat snake wasn't upset in the least....he quickly made himself at home with me and my hands....

I'm starting him off right....4 of the little neighbor kids next door have already handled him....and they want him for a pet...."Evil" stepmother says no. LOL.

I tried 5 times to load this pic in the other post, so here it is now, I can't help it....I love these little guys....(even when they get 5' long and not so pretty) ....shhhh....don't tell Oscar or Felix I said that.....

we have a "Grey Mama Rat Snake" that likes to have her babies in our shop. She keeps coming back year after year. I've never spotted her, but I've caught dozens of her babies and carried them outside and set them free in the tall grass. All the guys I work with think I'm crazy just picking snakes up off the floor. They'd rather kill them.

Well....decided to "push the envelope "...and test this full grown wild Texas rat snake's limit......

Tried tying it in a knot....well....it's response was actually pretty funny...and right in line with the the rest of my crazies....(we're together for a reason) !!! ....he pooped on my recliner! !!!

This was not coincidental, this was not accidental, that little bugger knew EXACTLY. what he was doing....ya gotta love a critter like that....any snake can bite you...not many calculate a retaliation like this.....

For all you naysayers: this is the second time this snake has done this.....Oscar has never done it once in 13 years.....oh yeah...it's on purpose, but only endears me to this guy....as it's pretty cool...??
