I finally got my snake

I'll have some pics later.

Before I do get pics, I have to warn you that he has burns allover due to the fact that he was abused by his former owner.

Yeah, the most serious one is this scabbed over one on his tail, which is allready improving.
When I got him he was VERY head shy, but he is getting more curious.

Hey, he looks pretty good considering all he's been through! That's cool that you took in a snake that needed a little extra help.

Yeah, it just broke my heart to see that someone would be sick and wrong enough to do something like that...

Yes I am aware that I am doing a double post, but I dont want to make a new topic about it.

I have a question.
Whenever I handle my ball python to put his medicine on, sometimes scales will flake off.
Is this about as bad as us losing dead skin or is actually bad?

I'm not sure how serious the scale thing is, i'll leave that to the more expierenced. However I have kept a Royal myself for one year, they truly are amazing reptiles! Yours is loverly and I wish you all the best!

Take care,

Jorj

well today alot of them have been flaking off...
Although I have noticed bits of shed skin in his terrarium that are annoying to pick up

I know this isn't really the answer you're looking for.
But when I worked at petco we received two BP's that had numerous burns and wounds from prey. Every day we rubbed them down with silvadine cream, and everytime I did it I always ended up with scales in my hands. The snakes eventually healed perfectly healthy so I can only assume from my own experience that it's to be expected with such extensive scale damage.
