i got 15 gal tall tank.and screen top. along with pebbles and a back round paper for the back of the tank. with a matching stand all for free! BUT everything is all rusted out. what happen a few month ago this tank use to hold a few fish. but as the people that had the tank when on holiday the tank leaked all over the place and they came back almost 3 weeks later. finding everything rusted and wet. :sidestep: (i was the home watching for the 3 weeks and i swear that tank was not leaking!) but now up to date. they gave me the tank for my snake for free and everything else along with it.

It's tall for a snake. You'll want more floor space, but if you turned it on it's side it might work well. A little sanding and paint should make it look like new.

true i know i will have to upgrade, right now i have peek a boo my corn snake she still a baby. she in a 10 gall. i just might get another baby corn after i fix up this 15 gall tank.

yes thats a good idea. i like the high sides also peek a boo loves to clime! she always in her tank in the vines and sticks i have in her tank. So i really think she will like the new one if i add some new stick and stuff after am done fixing it up. I did not think allot of corn snakes even liked to clime but i think i was dead wrong.

You can use straight lemon juice on any water deposits, just dab it on, let it sit for a bit then use a old tooth brush to rub it off.

I have vines in w/ my 3mth old corn. (the ones w/ the sucksion cup on back) He loves snoozing in them. I bought a fake tree, it has like a rock bottom & it shoots up. It was under $5, he loves it!
Grt job on cleaning.. maybe even a can of spray paint would work.

Yay after fixing it up!

all fixed up!

remember the old rusted out tank, top, and stand. Its fixed! with some cleaning and a new coat of black paint its now peek a boo's new home sweet home

Maybe a new snake?

now i have 2 tanks but the lower one needs a top that fits. i have a 10 gall top that fits the tank but not if its on the stand like it is. so until i find a way
to make a top. i will only have peek a boo. anyone know how to make a top?

I know they make sliding lids for tanks, but I don't know if they will fit the one you have there. You can make a wood frame that slides over the edges of the tank with the screen inside that. You might need some type of clips to make sure it stays in place though. The new house looks fantastic! I'm sure she'll love it!

Very nice job! I'm a big fan of a totally pimped out viv!

Peek a Boo will be happy I think. You know, some rocks for various heights might be cool.

In future, TREMCLAD paint goes right over the rust and looks great.

I find that tanks clean up pretty good with some TLC. The hard water stains are decieving cause they come off easily really.

You know, you could make a 1 or 2 tier shelf for the bottom of that stand and get 2 or 4 small 5-10 gallon tanks for future hatchlings?

I love making free stuff beautiful! Way to go!

WOW what wonderful job you did & to answer your question 'yes it was worth it!'

I see Peek a boo thinks it was worth it as well!! Love that you can store them together & it looks really nice. :)

Grt JOB!!

guess what i did

Looking nice, now you might actually have to buy yourself a corn instead of stealing one from the wild :sidestep:

Just kidding.
