i have 3 yr old corn

A few questions:

How often do you usually feed her, and what type/size of food does she eat?

Is she due to shed? Some don't like eating when they're in blue.

Does she have any health problems?

What's the tempoerature at the hot end of her tank? Sometimes overheating can cause stress and food refusal.

Has anything changed since you last fed her? New tank, new substrate, different type of food, moved house etc. Sometimes they don't like change, and can register their disapproval by going on a hunger strike.

Could she have been in contact with a male? If so, she might be about to lay eggs.

Are you sure she's female? Might be a daft question, but even the most experienced of us have fallen foul of that one on occasion!

I don't think you have any immediate cause for concern. Ten days isn't at all long for a healthy adult Corn to go without food. I usually feed mine once a fortnight.

Just checked back at your previous posts - is this the same snake that went on hunger strike at the same time last year?

If so, I think there's a pattern emerging. Try keeping feeding records, so you can spot when this usually starts and finishes each year. It's a good way to avoid stress!

yep i think your right i just wonder why it happens round this time ? everything is same temps and that

hope not owner who gave her to me was very sure she was she has she breed all her corns before

ive had it since she was few months old.... if she is he id have to call him markus instead of cleopatra

hope just one of them spring things she never use to do it thou till last year

I have a male and femaile corn both about 3/4 years old my girl is quite happy eating whenever she is given it but the male has been on hunger strike since mid feb so you may well have a male instead. He is out and about all the time just point blank refuses to eat as well.

From what I have heard ALL breeders make gender mistakes at least once. If you got this snake at just a few months old it would be easy to think female if it wasn't popped properly (er, I'm not sure that is the right term). Its really easy to not use enough preassure and say ok its a female! Markus is still a very nice name lol!

yer she been breeding them for yrs she even pick girl out for me has she told me with her hubby what you gonna call her would ask her if she is female but she died few 2 yrs go

Well then, I guess all we can say is that you have a Corn that seems to go on a hunger strike around this time of year.

It's normally something that only males do, but you might have a female who does it as well - it's just very unusual indeed.

Just keep offering the normal food at regular intervals. If she starts losing weight, then there could be something else wrong - let us know and we'll try to come up with some other ideas. My bet is that she'll start eating again before that happens.
