I just got my first snake!!

Plissken

Crazy Snail Lady
Yay!
He's grey with browny/red saddles. I'm not entirely sure if he's an odd-looking corn or a hybrid of some sort. I'll ask for some help with identifying him when I have pics, but as you can imagine, I didn't want to disturb the poor thing while he's settling in.

Also I need a name... *goes off to look for one*

:dancer:

I'm happy for you :) Hope I get my first soon, but depending on current events it might be a couple of months yet :( Hopefully it will be soon though. Good luck with him/her. And I will leave the name up to you, give it your own little personal touch.

Thank you! :)
I have decided (after much deliberation and banging of my head against a solid surface,) to call him Connor. :)

My nephew has a snake named after him!? He'll be so pleased! Congrats on your new purchase.

well done!! :)
It sounds like a light anery maybe... in certain lights my anery looks like it has brownish red saddles :p

post pictures asap :)

Thank you Tula :)
Yes, anery, maybe. Although the person I got him from seemed to think he had elements of rat snake about him. (although corns are rats [i think] but you know what i mean ^^ )

I'll hopefully get some opinions when I can get some pics of him! I'll sit out with my camera this evening, I'm hoping he might start to move around as it gets dark. He's been hiding all day today. Just to check, that is normal right? For a new snake? (So sorry - I'm a paranoid new mum!)

Of course its normal, new snake or not... they are most active at either dawn or dusk, being nocturnal animals n' all ;)

I'd like to take a moment to commend Plissken for becoming a member here and learning about her new pet BEFORE she bought one. It's good to see! Best of luck with the new snake!

P.S Spell check wants me to change your name to Pigskin. :shrugs:

Thanks very much :) My pets are my responsibilty - they are less like pets and more like children to me. :shrugs: I couldn't buy an animal without first having a good idea as to what I was doing.
