If snakes were slimy...

Would you still keep them? I know it's a weird question but I thought about it today when I should have been paying attention and I realized it would actually put me off completely. I wouldn't be able to enjoy nearly as much.

I've always liked salamanders, eels, slugs and snails, which are slimy. But a snake is a different beast. My carpet python is over five feet long and likes slither in my hair. I have no idea how I would wash that amount of slime out, and shampoo is pretty expensive.

I prefer pets that don't require high humidity, as my apartment is very dry and I find trying to maintain a humid yet clean environment very high-maintenance, personally. If snakes were slimy I might have one, but definitely not six.

Probably not. I LOVE amphibians and fish, but they're not as easy to keep as the snakes that I currently own, nor do most slimy creatures like to be held--some dislike it so much that the slime on their skin can be poisonous. I actually LIKE holding my snakes--they feel so soft and smooth (yes, I am aware that there are some snake species that aren't as smooth as others). If they were slimy, I probably wouldn't enjoy them nearly as much :).

I wouldn't care, if you didn't have to care for them differently. Think about frogs or salamanders- they don't leave slime on you when you handle them!
