Before people start selling baby cornsnakes again...I imagine some early birds have hatched somewhere . Do breeders every take deposits for new babies before they are hatched? VMS never got back to me so I decided to wait and look for either a charcoal het amel and/or diffused or a amel diffused or both if I can get them at a decent price.

I will have some hatchling amel het caramel and stripe in mid July. But I am just a tiny hobbyist so will just sell them locally or trade them to our little petstore.

We are getting close. I saw Walter had some hatchlings listed on his site. Steve should be getting close to hatching. The most exciting time of the year!

Just a stupid question (though one of the best teachers I ever had informed me that, "The only stupid question is the one that you DON'T ask."): How does your post relate to the title of the thread you started?

Is this a way of getting people to open a post which otherwise would seem mundane or boring to read?

I'm honestly just asking a question and not trying to be provocative in any way. Maybe I AM just getting old!! (This is actually the topic of another recent thread I have been participating in and this issue just may be fodder for that one!)

As far as your post, unfortunately, I don't know an ultramel from a caramel, but when I have time, I would love to learn! And I am not a breeder who breeds to sell hatchlings, though I do have a clutch of eggs I am waiting on to hatch and will definitely have to sell or give away the bulk of them if and when they do hatch. However, I have also learned the hard way in life that I should NEVER count the hatchlings before they hatch!

Well Axis1 I guess Im just an idiot. I was only trying to be funny. But I guess I will shut up now stop posting.Ive never been good with words, written or otherwise thats why I like animals, they dont judge me for my lack of language skills.
Anyway someone just gave me a baby bearded dragon that should keep me occupied until the babies come up for sale.

Hi Joann42!!

Please do not stay silent (by virtue of keyboard OR voice, for that matter!) on my account! I was only asking as I thought maybe I was missing out on yet another fad that has passed me by, due to my withering body and state of mind as a result of years and years of trying Better Living Through Chemistry (though I happily report multiple years of sobriety as of this writing!)!

While you say you've never been good with words, in my opinion, your response is concise, to the point, and as clear as an un-muddied lake in deepest summer (can't remember where I heard that but I thought it would sound good right about now!)!

Please carry on as this would not be a forum were it not for the written word as an expression of our feelings and thoughts!!!

Thanx for the response!! Now I know I'm not TOTALLY outta da loop!

Hi joann42!

I didn't answer at first because I don't have the information you were seeking. I understood you just fine and took your title as a bit of humorous hyperbole. It certainly well describes the way many of us feel when waiting for something we really, really want.

I felt that way for sure when I was waiting a month for the adoption process to play out before I brought home my beautiful and sweet normal girl Mandy 6 weeks ago. Withering and dying was the least of it. Each day I awoke to a beautifully decorated and thermostatically heated viv that was complete except for one precious scaley being. It was total waiting agony! Now it feels like she has been part of the family forever.

I digress but just so you know, I feel your pain. Hope the hatchling of your dreams slithers into your life soon!

I don't know how I missed this post, but if you are still looking, Don at SMR takes pre-hatch deposits based on his breeding plans. His snakes are lovely to look at and have great temperaments. https://cornsnakes.net
