Very cute snake! lucky for her that you were there..Now she'll have a safe little home away from predators and she'll never have to worry about her next meal :0) Great thing you did...Congrats :0)

Thanks for adding to my knowledge base!! :)

D80, The olive house snake and the brown house snake are two different species. In fact there are four species of house snakes indigenous to South Africa that I know of:

Lamprophis Fugilinoses (I keep wanting to type "fugli noses) - Common Brown house snake, that you call the African Brown house snake.
Lamprophis Capensis - Cape house snake
Lamprophis Aurora - Aurora house snake
Lamprophis Olivaceus - Olive house snake

There are a few other species indigenous to Africa but not to South Africa itself.

My little one is either a very dark L.Fugilinoses (Brown house) or a cape house snake...I am currently doing research and trying to find out how to tell the difference. :) Will let you guys know what I find out! :)

lol No worries! I am also learning and heck, I live here! lol

She has been confirmed to be Lamprophis Capensis or Cape House snake. :)

It is nice and dark! So cute! Good luck getting her to eat. I guess if you can't, you can always just let her go. Cool!

Soo cute! Kudos for the rescue...

What kind of permit do you have to get? Is it hard to get?
