Incubating Eggs

So, where do you guys purchase your vermiculite, perlite, etc, really anything you use for incubating eggs? Thanks!

Places like Home Depot or Lowes have some selection, just watch out for added chemicals, etc.

Specialty garden stores are often better. I found the most luck in my area at A&P Nursery (not sure if they're only local).

I got a giant bag of pure 'organic' sphagnum moss at the Home Depot. Great stuff. Smells wonderful. :3

This stuff?

And as for vermiculite, do you prefer smaller pieces, or the bigger kind? Which works better. Lowes has only vermiculite with additives, and home depot doesn't carry it in my stores around me, I'd have to pre-order it.

So which have you all had the best results with? Does it really matter? Thanks again!

No. Mine is "green moss" from Hiawatha Evergreens Corporation. It's "naturally grown in the Pacific Northwest.
