info on handling

Hi, I got my corn snake just 3 days ago and i was wondering when and how often should I handle it. Do corn snakes enjoy human company, and can too much handling be bad for the snake. I really enjoy it slithering around my hands and i need to know this stuff so I know if I'm overdoing it or not

depending on how old the snake is you can handle it every day, exept for atleast 48 hours after feeding, my first snake was a baby and I held him almost every day with no problems (except after feeding), but he was a very calm snake that liked to be handled.
If the snake is timid or frantically tries to escape your hold I would hold him only a couple of times a week until you feel he has become acclimated , I would let him crawl around your fingers until he's comfortable and don't make grabbing him or putting him back into his cage a stressful time, take it slowly.
I found that it depends on the snake, whether they enjoy human company, but I do feel that some do. If the snake moves somewhat slowly and weaves between your fingers, I would say these are good signs that he enjoys being held, but if you're constantly moving one hand in front of the other to keep him from darting out of your grip then he's probably not comfortable yet.
I would'nt hold the snake so tight that it has to squirm it's way out of your grip because I found this often causes stress, but if he willingly weaves between your fingers make sure he can't make a quick move and fall, snakes especially babies have fragile ribs that can break if they fall hard.
Not to make you worried, because you should be able to tell fairly quickly whether your snake is calm and comfortable, or stressed and frantic.
I hope this information helps you, and this is just my opinion from the experience I have had with new snakes.

You really should leave him or her alone for about the first week, since it can stress them out. I'd say maybe 5-10 minutes at a time at first once a day at the most, and then up it to 15-20 minutes? Maybe 30 minutes once you've had him for a bit.
