Interesting ghosts

Picked up this pair in Albuquerque today... rather interesting. They're ghosts of some sort, but neither has any borders on their saddles, and both have ruby pupils to their eyes (as well as rosy cheeks)... I talked with the breeder, and he showed me a sibling to them who looked almost like a snow, except for the irises of the eye, which were the standard ghost peachy-pink.

He mentioned raising up some ice ghosts to find out if his line was the same thing as the other line... I'm planning on testing them with ultrahypo as well, once they're old enough. Should be interesting to find out just what the heck they are.

Looks like the "coral ghost" I bought from Blue Ribbon, but lighter! I can't wait to see what mine will look like as an adult.

she has red eyes too, hard to tell from my photos-she's also lighter than in the pictures. My camera's color balance sucks.

Frosted Ghost

He is calling them Frosted Ghost. Snow X Frosted Ghost. No back ground, no history. That is it. The clutch consist of snows, Ghost,
Frosted Ghost, and a lighter phase of Frosted Ghost. He thinks they are the same as Ice Ghost. The adults don't look the same to me, and with no back ground at all, who can tell.

Adult Frosted Ghost

This is the female that produced your ghost. Looks like a ghost to me. The hatchling in the center of the previous photo does seem to be different than the Frosted Ghost.

Ultra Ghost

Just a guess, but I think these are Ultra Ghost. There is obviously two different hypo genes or a combo of hypo genes involve with this Snow X Frosted Ghost breeding. Some hatchlings are Ghost, Some are Frosted Ghosts and some are even lighter. The lighter ones seem to be caused by a different hypo gene or combo of hypo genes, than the standard hypo gene which is involved with the standard ghost." Frosted" Ghost or "Frosted" Amels or "Frosted" Snows seem to be a selective color morph rather than a recessive mutant gene.

John is going to test breed the Frosted Ghost with the Ice. A test breeding of the Frosted Ghost X Ultra would be very interesting, but it seems that two different hypo genes are involved which will confuse the issue.

they do look very different compared to the run of the mill ghosts.
The first pic that you had even looked like a lavender...

but yeah I agree with Joe, they don't look too much like ice ghosts. Maybe it's another type of hypo that is affecting these ghosts~~
sigh..more genetic issues~~

Yah... I agree they don't look like the pics I've seen of ice ghosts...
But I think there's a good chance that they could be ultrahypo-based ghosts. Give it a couple years, and I should know the result. Heck, I can even test whether these guys are carrying both forms of hypo (wouldn't it be interesting if HypoA and Ultrahypo were additive?), since I have a female growing up who is het for both.

Once they make it through quarrantine, I'll try to remember to get some comparison pics with them next to snows...
