Lately, my amel has found it reidiculously fun to move aroud everything in her tank. Shes getting really strong, so i know she can do it, but every morning its all in a new position! :rolleyes: O well, if she has fun i don't mind moving it back.

Anyway, since i'm so good at getting off the subject, I read somehwere this weekend that reptile saliva contains an agent that increases pain. Is this true in snakes?

there are many different types of snakes and hence many varieties of saliva, all comtaining a complex mixture of compounds to achieve different things.
Where did you read it, and what exactly did you read?

I went to the local library to do some research on various types of lizards, and found it in a book... i can't remember the name of the book. I'll try to go back and find it, and tell you the name.
 
It would probably have to get into the bloodstream rather than sit on the surface to increase pain and since corn snakes have relatively small teeth, I would guess that it is not a major cornsnake kind of thing. It sounds like self-defense though so it would not apply to snakes which kill prey with venom either because they don't want to inflict pain because they want subdued prey. If you read it in a lizard book, I would guess that it mostly applys to lizards.
