Introducing jonah

I guess I should introduce myself. My real name is Mike. Jonah is one of my favorite books of the Bible. I've been a fish keeper for 15 years, but recently dove into reptiles because of my 12 year old daughter. She fell in love with a horned lizard that I nearly shredded with our lawnmower. Since we didn't want it to die we let it go, but she wanted to get a reptile as a pet after that. Now she has a ghost corn snake named Lucy. She had a lizard, but unfortunately that didn't turn out well. The corn snake on the other hand has been a terrific pet, much more like a traditional pet with personality. I'll probably get one for myself soon.

As for myself, I'm a 41 year old man, married 21 years with 3 kids ages 12, 17 and 20. We live in Mustang, a small city next to Oklahoma City and go to church in Yukon (hometown of Garth Brooks, whoop di do). I grew up in San Diego and moved here after serving 4 years in the Air Force. I'm a machinist for an oil and gas equipment manufacturer. I'm a new member of the Oklahoma City Herpatological Society and hope to learn a lot of useful information about reptiles in the near future. One of the society members gave us a copy of "The Corn Snake Manual" which has been a big help so far. I just noticed today that one of the authors post here, small world. Other than reptiles my interests are tropical fish, guns and old cars.

I'm the fat guy in the middle. Note the improper trigger control on the girl. It's been corrected since then. It was her first time shooting.

My '68 F-250 Camper Special. That project is kind of on hold until the economy starts rolling again.

1970 Mercury Cougar. I gave it to my oldest son, who gave it to his little brother when he left for Sicily (he's in the Navy). It's now the car the little brother uses for his auto mechanics class in school.

My squid son on his last day in America. We're hoping he can come home this Christmas. The boy is huge. He benches 405 lbs and runs 6 miles a day. He's Hospital Corpsman in the USN.

Hi Mike, welcome.
Wife, kids, son in the Navy, guns, cars, snake. Guess you got it covered.
Thanks for growing your corpsman and supporting our military.
