Introducing our lovely corns!

1. Juno- female normal corn, 3 years old, 289 grams and way over 3 ft. I suspect she is het amel, because she was part of a clutch of bright pink snakes and bright yellow snakes, but it hasn't been proven. She was my very first snake, I got her at a local pet shop when she was just a hatchling(bad idea, but i knew nothing about snakes back then). She was a stubborn non-feeder, and it took my parents and I about a month to get her eating. She is very docile, and a little lazy X3

2.Solo- My mom has this Star Wars naming theme going on with her snakes this guy is a male lavender motley pinstripe het hypo, 2 years old and 110 grams. He's a feisty fellow, he's always rattling his tail, and even striked a couple of times :laugh:

3. Padme- Female Golddust poss. het diffused, 3 years old and 106 grams(with a meal). we think so because her belly checkers are diffused. she's very skittish. she'd just eaten the day before.

4. Vesper- little female snow hatchling, ravenous eater, 7 grams. She digests really fast, it only takes her a day to digest.

5. Danni- Female phantom corn, 8 grams(she's about a month older than Vesper). She is a non-feeder. When my parents first tried to feed her she wouldn't take it and for some reason the frozen thawed pinkie started falling apart. So mom thawed a rat tail and had to force feed. Danni digested and pooped fine. My parents tried to feed her again, she wouldn't take it so they force fed her again. next mom got a live pinkie and Danni was terrified of it, she had to force feed again . 2 days ago they tried frozen thawed again, hoping she would realize what she needed to do. Nope, force feed again :nope:. After 3 more days mom's going to try the ivory soap method. i just dont want to have to force feed her again, i cringe every time :nope:

please no flames, i DESPISE force feeding, but it was either that or she starved to death. if the ivory soap method doesnt work, my mom's going to try boiling the pinky and see if that works

I'm not sure if you've seen Nanci's post on feeding tricks, but there are a lot of things you can try: http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131573 I personally would do whatever it took to get the baby eating, but force feeding might be stressing it out enough that it doesn't want to eat on its own. I would probably be trying force feeding as a last resort, after all those other methods. And make sure to give at least 3 or 4 days in between feeding attempts.

Hopefully your little non-feeder will get the hang of it!

I think that's where my mom found out about the ivory soap method. We will try those methods first before resorting to force feeding again.We're giving her 5 days before we try feeding again.
