Is a albino corn the same as a snow corn?

Okay, so you know how at petco, they label the snows 9Iguess that is what they are) as albinos? But breeders label 'em as snows...? Well I'd like to know if a albino corn is the same as a snow?

Thank you,

Emma.

some what,

there are different albino's.

many stores list anery A as black albino
amel as red albino
and snow as albino

but it depends on the source as to what name they give the different morphs

Simple version:
Albino means "lack of pigment". Many animals only have melanin (black/brown) as a pigment and therefore albinos end up being white. The common misconception is many people people think an albino has to be white (ie. Snow Corn) or anything that's white (with red eyes) is an albino, and while that is correct, they don't have to just be white to be an albino. A Red Albino/Amelanistic is an albino because it's lacking melanin. A Black Albino/Anerythristic is also an albino as it's lacking erythrin. etc., so on and so forth.

As a further note, to misconceptions,... not all white animals are Albino either.

BTW Brent ... If they don't have to be white, to be an Albino, then the belief, that all Albinos must be white, cannot be correct.:poke: ;)

I knew/know what you were saying.:)
Don't worry, I was just "ribbing you".
What I meant is ... the way I read it (by your saying "and while that is correct"), it looked like you were saying that it is correct that an albino has to be white or anything that's white is an albino. IOW Contradicting yourself by indicating that this belief, of many people, is a misconception but, then, in the same breath, saying it is correct.
Ah heck, I am, probably, not giving a good explanation soooo ... let's just say that we can chalk this up to an ill-fated attempt at friendly "ribbing".

I know what you're saying. I get to typing, and then proof reading, and then changing, and then re-changing . . . and then sometimes my words don't come out the way I meant them. It's a curse that has a negative affect once in a while!

I think I fixed what was hanging you up and made my words a tad unclear. I added the (with red eyes) and bolded "just" to hopefully make it clearer without rewriting the whole thing! :)

Ah the joys of the typed word!
