hello ive had my corn snake a bout a week now his colour has gone dull and he just seems to be on the hot side of the tank is he getting ready to shed?
 
if he is shedding you may of noticed at one stage he will of had blue eyes and cloudy looking skin. the eyes then clear up and go clear again. between 1-3 days after them going clear again your snake will probably shed. after he has cleared up his skin will be like the normal snake but a lot duller. after he sheds make sure that you have a full shed and it has two eye caps in it. if the eye caps are not in it then you should get a wet piece of cotton wool and gently wipe over the eye with it. also make sure the tip of the tail is in the shed as this often doesn't come off.

Also, you can alway leave a hide with some moist papertowels in the viv...

That way your covered in case he is in blue.
