Is it too hot for her?

RepLover1022

i love my little alice
So I've read that new babies like the cooler temps. My hot side is at 82-83 and my cold is 76-77. I found my baby buried on the farthest side of the cool side. Does that mean I should take the temps down a little bit? Is it too hot for her? Or is it ok?

I've realized u can research all u want but when the time comes, you'll still have questions. Lol.

Those temps are fine...

Ball Pythons are among the species that cooler temps are recommended for hatchlings, but I have never heard this said about corn snakes.

If anything, you could edge the hot side up a bit and shoot for 85-86 degrees...

PS- During the summer especially, it's normal for the snake to prefer the cool side when not digesting.

She came out of hiding after a couple hours...she's in her tp roll now though. I woke up last night and found her on top of her log last night. I was so excited. As soon as I walked over she dipped for cover though...pretty much same with today too...I don't think she's ready yet. Even though I'm dying to get her out.

Most of mine spend most of their time down the cool end, even though the wam end is around the ideal mid 80s. Seems to be pretty normal for Corns of all ages.
