Is my snake bug enough to eat 2 pinkies?

SunnyCorn

No Soup For You!!
I'm just wondering if I can move him up to two pinkies instead of one, 10 min. break each. Here are two pictures showing how big he is. And sorry if this is in the wrong thread, I had trouble disiding where it would belong.:eek1:

hmm he looks big enough for fuzzies, my anery is a little bigger however he is indeed on fuzzies, whereas my normal who is a thrid smaller is on 2 pinkies...

you should be able to see the food lump for at least 12 - 24 hours after feeds...

you know the girth rule right?

No I don't know the girth rule....when I see girth, I think horses. :p Thats what the strap is called that...nm way off topic! Ok I just gave him another pinkie, and he snapped it up. And hasn't regurged yet. So far so good! But please explain the Girth rule. Thanks!

no need to explain i have saddled many a horse in my time ;)

girth rule - mice should be roughly the same size at the snakes width... well between 1 and 1.5 the girth :) okie dokie

So...you mean how ROUND the snake it? Or how big the snak'es head is? :D

Hehe...you really did? o.o :p

how wide around their belly is the best way... if it was judged by headsize, or neck width, their mice would be teeny lol

n yeah, ridden most of my life... had two clydes years back, but horses are just sooo damn expensive. With my current lifestyle, 1. i couldnt afford them and 2. i wouldnt have time to give them the attention and care they need...

i feel bad and wish i could because i love horses sooo much :(

very nice amel, looks exactly like mine about the same size too. mines been on fuzzies for a few months now and doing great. i think yours can take a smaller fuzzy. here;s some pics of mine eating a fuzzy
if anything mine looks a bit smaller than yours, it;s 20in and about 27g

Oh wow! Mine does look alot like your. Maybe mine is an Amel, but I heard someone say Amel is just another name for Creamsicle since Creamsicle isn't the "rightway" to name the color. So I just kept him as a cream. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'll measure him tommorow. How often do you feed him neotekz?

Jessica

i'm not positive it;s an amel. that;s what people here told me when i first got him. at the store it was a "red albino". does yours have red eyes?
i feed about every 6 days. if yours is about the same size as mine he will have no problem with a fuzzy.

Creamsicles usually have a yellow to light orange color. They are actually a cross between a corn snake and a rat snake (Pantherophis guttatus x Pantherophis emoryi).

amels always always always have red eyes...

so u can;t have a cream with red eyes? so mine is an amel for sure?
the snakes in those 2 pics look pretty similiar, to a beginner at least.

oh dear girl just accept the damn snake is an amel... its perfectly easy to tell!!!

and yes they do look similar but creams are hybrids!!

Ok ok, no need for the D word here! :D But yes I guess it was a fib. He has brownish red eyes. But mine looks the exact same as yours so. He is an Amel. Nonetheless I love him. :D Thanks I'll keep the 6 days feeding thing in mind. :D

That's just an alternate name used for amels...fun fact: "albino" means no pigment present at all, while "amelanistic" means only lacking the pigment that makes black.
