Is my snake mad at me?

I was holding him for about two hours and he was fine, then all of a sudden he looked at me and opened his mouth all the way, he didn't attempt to bite but he stood like that for a few seconds. Then he started pushing my thumb with his head, mouth closed, but still it was kind of weird. Afterwards he looked the other way and opened his mouth half way, kind of like getting ready to snap, so I put him back in his cage.

OK nvm, he was trying to use my thumb to shed I guess because I looked in on him and he had about half of his old layer off already. I thought he was mad at me.

The first bit sound like he was yawning. It's way cool when you catch them doing that .... you don't see it all that often. (Maybe they're just re-setting their jaw but it looks like a yawn to me)

I *almost* caught one of mine doing it with the camera earlier today ... missed it by about 5 seconds. Drat! Next time ..... :)

LOL That's really sweet. He was loosening the skin around his jaws to begin the shed process. If you'd kept him out, he would, no doubt have continued to shed in your hands :)

Colin I agree, it always looks like a yawn, and I continue to call it that...*LOL* I have a Ball python that shed on me acouple of times, guess he found my clothes a good scratching post!! *L* And I have recently aquired acouple of corns that I thought it best to help them shed with warm water and rubbing, as they were having a real hard time getting the skin off...
