Is neosporin ointment safe?

A friend gave me a mouse that was in a fight with another mouse. Her ear is ripped. It has scabbed over but she keeps scratching the scab off. I wanted to put neosporin on it to help it heal...but is it safe for her?
Thank you in advance!

It has been three weeks and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I guess I'll wait and see for a few more weeks. Thank you.

I don't think it would hurt anything to put a tiny film of antibiotic ointment on it. If you can find it, Brave Soldier Ointment is wonderful. I used it on my bird after he had laser surgery near his vent.
