Is there a Blue corn snake?

Firefly

Do fish get thirsty?
I really love blue and was wondering if there was a blue corn snake? I'm pretty sure I saw one once in a book, but who knows. :shrugs: Is there such a thing? If so, then I HAVE to have it!!! :crazy02:

*forgive my little knowledge of types of corns

Blue Motley

BayouReptiles.com, CSM, and a few other places I have seen, are working on Blue Motley cornsnakes. They aren't really blue though, they are more of a Pewter with some navy undertones when they reach maturity. They look slightly more of a dark greyish as hatchlings.

never seen a true blue corn, but i've seen and owned a blue striped garter...if you're looking for a blue snake, these are pretty cool little snakes. though a lot more flighty than corns.

It seems that new morphs are being bred all the time. Perhaps a blue will become available in the next few years. ;)

In the meantime, that garter looks awfully cute to me :p

yeah he was cute...he was only 8" in that pic. unfortunately, he got ill and died. the vet said he had some sort of neurological problem. he quit eating and would have strange seizures, he'd flip over on his back and coil up. i'm thinking he had parasites or something that made him ill. he was wild caught.

www.gartersnakemorphs.com has these, scott felzer breeds a lot of different morphs of garters. if i were to get another, i'd get a captive bred one.

it happens, thats the risk of wild caught. you never know what sort of illnesses they may have down the road....
a blue corn morph would be cool though. kinda wish you could cross a blue striped garter with a corn...now THAT would be an interesting morph.

wow my first corn snake (first snake ever) when i was like 12 or 13 had that same neurological problem and died like a week after i had it. He was having the same seizures and flipping on its back sort of thing and he was pushin his head into stuff and got substrate in his mouth to. I think it might have been stress induced but who knows, the vet just said it was some neurological disorder.

Well, I actually saw 2 very blueish ghosts irl, so I guess they would deserve the name blue corn if applied at all...

So, what about this blue beauty (also really the English name)? It's the grandpa of mine and the first blue beauty in Europe! But they don't all get that blue, females are lighter/more greyish and overall quality is gettin gpoorer because of other closely related speciesbeing bred into the lines.

Ow wow!!! That blue beauty (?) is a beautiful snake!! I wouldn't care if was really blue or not, even a little would please me. :) That garter was really cute!!!:D I'm hoping that eventually their will be a blue corn, but I suppose I could settle with something that has a sort of blue tint to it for now. I'll have to look around and see what I can find. I really wish I could get another corn now, but I just got a hedgehog and that was a huge chunk of money for a person who lives on allowance..lol If anyone sees anything anywhere post about it!
