Is this a normal type?

Just skimming through ads on craigslist and saw this handsome fellow... I have been reading and reading about all the different morphs but I really don't know what a "classic" type looks like? There is a lot of variability on them, it seems. So is this a "classic/normal/wild-type" corn?

It looks like it to me. I love the well defined belly checkers on this one.

Yes his belly is amazing!!! Its crazy that with all the available color morphs and patterns, the natural wild type corn snake is still so beautiful! I love that he looks a little bit more caramelly colored than the bright red on orange I see when I search for normal type images. Seriously thinking about trying to talk my husband into letting me bring this guy home!

Lol, you're better than I am. I just buy the snake and inform of the "fait accompli".

That snake looks wonderful. Wouldn't hurt to just check it out. ;)

I normally would hesitate to get a craigslist creature but he looks pretty healthy to me! Hubby is trying really hard to support my snake obsession but we are moving soon (hopefully) so he's trying to convince me to wait.... ha. His struggle is futile....

:dancer: hope it all goes smoothly!

I think the add mentions 4 years but can't remember if that's his age or how long they've had him. I'm going to drop them a message today to get some more info on him!

Pretty sure this guy is coming home with me on Thursday!! Impatiently waiting on that confirmation email reply :crazy01:

That is one handsome critter. I love his belly. Any idea how old he is? He's quite big.

The lady told me he was 9 years old. They got him as a pet for a young kid and the kid is grown with other things on his mind these days. I couldn't let a handsome old man like that just fall into the wrong hands, so I'm hoping to bring him home to live out the rest of his days. Hopefully he has quite a few years left!

Good for you! It's great to see the normal/wildtype/classic's adopted into a long term caring home. So many are on craigslist because their lives are not valued.

And yet the couple times I've found one in the wild you'd think I'd have found the last dinosaur, or something, I've been so thrilled!

Awesome. He's a beauty!

It's fantastic that you highly value them in the wild as everybody should! Sadly they hold no real resale value in the pet trade. With all the morphs available now I guess if you want to take a virtual walk in the wild just scroll through craigslist ME. ;)

I envy you! I get so excited seeing a garter snake or a newt here. I did see the biggest snapping turtle under the dock that made me NOT want to ever swim again !! LOL
