Hi, this is my second ever corn snake! He's from Petco. (I know, I know...) I like him very much, and he seems healthy. In these pictures he's around 7 months old. He was labeled as a normal but I was thinking that his neck colors seem really bright. But, then again, I haven't seen too many normals. Do you more experienced herpers think he is "plain old normal" (not that there's anything wrong with that!) or maybe does he have some Okeetee in him?

Yes that is a normal!! Looks just like one of my sub adults. Very Pretty snake. Only way you can tell if it has okeetee or something in him is through breeding and even then it's still
hard to tell.

*Le Gasp* That is not a plain old Normal! That is a beautiful normal! You'd be amazed just how different each normal can look. I have 2 normals and they both look as different as night and day and are beautiful to boot. While my Voldemort is very very bright and light colored, my Ms. Salazar is much deeper and redder.

Very, Very true!! LOL! My Sage, has so many colors in her. She also has a ton a hets, as well. Which can affect her colors a little. Again, very pretty snake!!

My normals were rescues so have no clue if they carry any hets. Someday, maybe I'll give breeding them a shot just for the fun of it but the female is sorely underweight and size for a 4 year old. She's still got quite a while to go.
 
That is a beautiful Normal..Normals are by far my fave of the corn snakes!

That is a lovely normal.

I know it may be heresy but the 'normals' are I think my favourites. I have a list now including miami, keys, okeetee and plain ole normal! They have such wonderful colour variations, without any clever genetic planning.

I can appreciate the other morphs, just doesn't rock my boat.

Yeah I have 3 normals..

0.1 Okeetee
1.0 Classic
and
0.1 Normal..
and all 3 look so different..

But Like I said..The best corns are normals..
 
I studied them all and decided on either a Reverse Okeetee or a normal. I got this one, he seemed pretty as a little baby and then was really happy when he shed into really nice colors. I can't wait to see what he looks like as he matures.
 
My son went for a Hypo Okeetee, because of the colours! He's been with us a month now, and I think he has just started to go into blue, so am really looking forward to seeing the colours once he sheds.

That is, as stated, a normal. But I don't think that is just a "regular old normal" at all! At 7 months old, he's already showing some bright colors. That is a very pretty normal :)

Outstanding snake. Normals like yours are what drew me to corns in the first place. He's only gonna get better!
