What do you mean 'under the lid'? Corns love to climb and explore their vivs so almost everything is normal and chances are, if it's night time, the snake's not sleeping any way.

is there a chance that the snake got up there and he got stuck? becuase corn snakes do not sleep at night sp he should go and hide else where. and during that day is he still up there?
 
If the snake falls out when you open the lid, obviously it didn't get stuck. 2 of my corns and my sisters corn does that all the time. When they get too big to get up there they won't do it any more. You just have to watch where they are before you open the lid. Actually I think that it is kind of cute to see them up there when I look for them. :D :)
 
I think it's cute too. two of mine do that but my oldest male is getting too fat and falls off of the ledge several times in the night... startles me sometimes. It's funny though... makes a big 'thump'. Smile!:D
 
mine used to but he's too big to now

my snake used to go up under the lid but after he ate a couple of times he got too fat and realized he couldnt do it anymore. he found new stuff to do in the cge like he would go onto the top of the "tree" and he'd put his neck area on the top of the cage and slide backwords. it looks like he does back flip-like things. lol. but when he used to he would fall when i took the lid off. sometimes i wouldnt see him up there so i thought he got out so i quickly took of the top and *thud* he fell and went into the hide. lol.
