try using the search function on the top of the screen. Then if you still don't understand something feel free to ask.

U asked if it was ok to split up your snakes into 18 gallon containers. First of all every1 told u to split them up so i'm assuming you are asking about the size of the container. Most ppl feel 20 gallons is appropriate so if you have 18 gallon containers i'm sure thats fine.

also clumsly is only 15, i kinda doubt he is INTENTIONALLY trying to cause any type of problems/annoyances
Have a good day! its friday!

woops, separater not separate

i would imagine if you are using something that they can't see through it would b much better than ur current situation. Fon very minimal expense you could go out and but a rubbermaid container

Are you talking about dividing a tank into 3 areas??

It will be more trouble that it is worth.

Problems:
1. It will be very difficult to control the temps in each of the three areas. Placing three UTHs on one tank will get way to hot for the snakes. This will also destroy the thermogradiant.

2. It is close to impossible to completely seal the dividers to prevent escaping from one area into another, especially if the corns in question are small. (This will not help you solve the breeding problem.)

Spend a couple of dollars and get some plastic tubs with lids. It is safer, less expensive and easier to thermo-regulate than trying to divide a tank up into smaller areas.

Splitting a 55 gallon tank into 3 will not be sufficient for the snakes (as adults, anyway)...
It is the floor area that matters more than the number of gallons.
1/3 of a 55 gallon will have 12"x16" floor area, which is about a 10 gallon tank equivalent.
The extra inches of height (21" vs 12" of a 20L) do not really add much. Corns can live in a tub 6" tall if it has the right floor area.

Not to mention

along with escaping through the dividers, you have to worry about them getting caught in between the glass/lid and the divider as well. Depending on what kind of divider you use, you run the risk of the snake getting injured in the process, by either getting pinched or cut or scraped.

Also try to cover the sides of your tank so that the snakes can not see through all 4 sides. This will help reduce stress since they will feel more secure.

You can easily do this by covering the glass from the outside.

And enjoy your snakes, if you know the basics of snake-care then your snake will be happy!

There are hundreds of care-sheets listed on this forum (use search: care sheets) that will help you with the basics!

The rest is all learn-it-yourself from experience.

I'm sure every snake-owner out there once also didn't know precisely what to do!!

Good Luck!

Well couldn't the female always smell the male and get stressed out? (for all this trouble you could just get a rubbermaid thing)
