Jungle Corns

Anel & Dirk

Cornvicted troublemaker
Hold on a minute...

Is it correct that a jungle corn is when a corn and king mate?

okay...

Don't kings eat corns (and all other snakes for that matter)

How on earth do they mate and get babies?

Usually it's done by a mating a male corn with a female king, so the urge to mate outweighs the need for food. If one does use a male king x female corn, I think they try to use a really BIG girl to dissuade the knig from thinking of her as a possible food item. However, I don't think anyone just throws them in together! They watch them to make sure it l'amour taking place and not a fight for the corn's life.

albinos

the albino jungle corns are especially eye-catching.

heh, you aren't the first one to wonder about how people manage to breed a king to a corn..
i was once told that one method to pursuade breeding is to put the male and female together right after feeding them. (in case you're curious, i haven't seen any difference between feeding right before or not)
maybe that method is used in breeding kings and corns together, so the king snake will be nice and full, therefore (hopefully) not interested in eating his/her mate.

hey.

It does sound funny but anyway,do any of you guys and gurls have a few pics of jungles because i wanna get one.

cheers

here's a gorgeous amel jungle, just so you can check it out.

i've found that more often that not, what people offer as 'jungle corns' look quite a bit like normal corn snakes, with the same coloration, too. i would guess that that is because a lot of people sell jungle corns that are 75% corn snake and only 25% king.

i have encountered a real (or what *I* consider real) 50-50 jungle corn, and it looks just like a corn snake body and head wise, except it has the coloration/markings of a cal king.

i can't find a pic of a regular one!

i was woundering if the jungle corn will still have the instinct of eating other snakes like the king

Maybe in a batch half of your jungles will be like corns and the other like kings, eatingwize.

"hey don't bite me, I'm youre brother"
"sorry, but I just can't help myself"

HEHE

There are some gorgeous jungles in the pic-galeries, just trow a search or something.

I am sooooooo going to try to breed some!

ANEL AND DIRK

That is a very nice snake there i got to get some.

Anel and dirk do u know where i can get some of those in south africa.

cheers

Cornsnakes will eat other snakes. kingsnakes don't always eat other snakes. Its by no means a myth...but kingsnakes aren't the only ones...a corn will happily chow down a cage mate. Maybe not as often as kings but it does happen.

You learn something new each day, I guess?
