Juping rats

OK, I know this may sound stupid but some of my rats are jumping in their cages. It is a normal behavior? When they start they can jump like this for a couple of minutes. :shrugs: And since rats are bigger than mice, it make some very loud noise.

Thanks!

I've heard that if mice do it it can be a sign of boredom and obsessive compulsive type behaviour. As rats are very intelligent creatures, it would be an idea to make sure they're quite stimulated by their environment.

Are there 2 or more rats jumping or just 1 ? Rats are very playfull also and (for want of a better term) play tag allot. I only have 9 adult rats and only 2 or 3 will "jump" like I believe you are saying, but they are the youngest ones (besides the babies). @ others did this when they were younger but grew out of it, now they just boink, eat and sleep.

Grow a tail, look cute and don't bite  (I am only 0 for 3). The biting I can work on, the other 2 ............... ohhh well, not my specialty I suppose.

Should I install them a TV? LMAO

Just wait until you see their acrobatic back flips. Some of mine will do a back flip and grab the mesh lid and walk a round upside down. It's funny to see them try to grab the lid like this when I have it open. It looks like they are just doing back flips for no reason at all.
