Nah. For that to happen, the question would need to be phrased along the lines of "Off what substrate should I feed my cohabitated snakes? (They're a female hatchling and a male adult, btw.....) :grin01:

It's alive, it's alive!

Is there any substrate that is as good as aspen but has the darker more natural color?

Five years people this poll is five years old. But hey it's fun anyway.

I use paper towels. I used to use Aspen until I heard of the threat of impaction and decided it is better safe than sorry.

They will only ingest the aspen if you feed them on it or maybe if it gets in thier water bowl.

Aspen. It smells good, is easy to find poop in, and the snakes love to burrow in it.

Don't forget the bit about feeding live :grin01:

"I'm feeding my co-habbed female hatchling and male adult live mice, which substrate should I use? I used Calci-sand but the pink got stuck so I fed it to my cat, haha"

:D

And I use Aspen. I also have bark in my shed, and would have used calci-sand - both of these other substrates were recommended to me by pet shop advisors *sighs*. But I hear that Aspen is the best bet. Easy to clean and my snakes like burying themselves in it :)
