Hi, I've just got my 1st corn snake, it was ny nephews but he got bored of it, how i don't know, i love it, just got so many questions that i'm not sure about.

Can u tell how old the snake is ? mine's about 4ft and quite chunky, does the size of him tell u anything ??

At the moment he's got like saw dust at the bottom of his cage but i read this isnt good for them, what would you suggest to use ??

Feeding, he has 1 small mouse a week is this enough ??

Sorry to ask so many questions but just want to get it right for him so he's comfortable and not in any harm

Thanks Mick

Aspin chips are the best bedding in my opinion. It's impossible to tell age by size because they grow at different rates but your's sounds like an adult. If the mouse weighs between 20 and 30 grams you could feed him once every 10-14 days. Welcome to the forum!

Hi Mick, welcome.
Sorry to ask so many questions but just want to get it right for him so he's comfortable and not in any harm

Don't be sorry about that, that's why you came here. The stickies at the top of the forums will explain some things, especially the Husbandry and Basic Care forum.
Your corn snake shouldn't really be chunky looking, they're kind of slender. Look at some pics in the Photos section and compare.

We use aspen for bedding, but you could also use shredded newspaper if you wanted to. Sawdust is bad for them because it gets in between their scales and whatnot. Congrats on your new snake but BEWARE they are addicting!!!! We started with one and in three months we had three snakes.

Congrats on your new snake. You came to the right place for questions. Alot of knowledge and experience here. Like others have said they are addicting, we are now up to 33 corns.
