Hi, please pardon me if this is a question that has been addressed before, I used the Advanced search but didn't find any answers to my specific problem. I'm in Los Angeles, and we don't have air conditioning. The last week or so it's been brutally hot, and today the temp in my corn's enclosure is 88. I know that's probably too warm for him, he soaks all the time and I fear he's not comfortable (heck, WE'RE not comfortable!) All I have found is warning after warning about making sure they stay warm enough, but I've seen nothing about what if they get too hot. We were thinking about putting a piece of ice in the little water bowl with him, but my fear is what if he gets too cool then, and then has no way, other than the ambient air, to get warm again. We don't have the heater on now, of course, because it just seems unnecessary. We do have a ceiling fan right above the table where we have him, and that's on full strength. Any advice, am I just being paranoid about the heat? This is the first summer we've had him, we got him last November, so we've never dealt with summertime issues before. And in LA, we're likely to be feeling to heat until around Halloween. Any advice anyone can give would be GREATLY appreciated! We love our snake so much, we just don't want to mess him up. So far he's been eating, shedding and growing like a champion. This is the first time we've ever had a concern as to his well being. Thanks for your attention.
