King Leonidas is home!

Gosh it's amazing how much he's grown! He's on small fuzzies and still showing enough of a bump that I'm going to keep him on that size.

He's out early today as I'm off work so had some picture fun - check out the size difference now :D

Thank you very much :) He's also being incredibly nosey now he's had his 5 minutes hiding up my sleeve! I just wish I had the camera capabilities (& lighting) to get his true colours on screen.... his orange is darker in rl.

I struggle to get my dog still enough for a photo so I can't imagine trying to take a picture of a snake

I told him if he didn't stay still I'd give him bright pink hides so he'd clash with them horrendously ;)

I know this is really a pic thread but... I moved Leo down from the spare bedroom and onto the bookcase in the living room over the weekend. He's been out & about & watching me, doing laps around the top of his tank and even poked his head out of his hide this morning to wonder what idiot is up and about at 4am :D

Now I can see that he's not just some lazy little so n so who's always sleeping ;D

Leonidas was wathing the world outside the living room window today and I loved his colours in the light (no rain, woohoo!)

First time we've really seen the sun since I got Leo - so he's been allowed to enjoy it a bit this afternoon ;)

I got a belly shot of Leo the day after a shed: which wasn't as good as the last two as it had kept the tail tip on - thank goodness for reading all previous retained shed threads as it was off with a soak within minutes :)

I don't normally get to take a pic of his belly (which I think is just gorgeous) as he's too quick - but this time, I was faster!!

So I realise it's been a while since I last posted, but I come bearing gifts - the greedy pig Leo wolfing down his latest meal after weighing in at a whopping 75g. I think I need to up his container size now though, cleaned out take out boxes aren't quite cutting it anymore (maybe I should order bigger take-away meals ;D).

So after shedding late Monday night/early Tuesday morning I had Leo out to play yesterday after work. Once Mercy had left the room he commandeered her toy thing that a friend saw and bought for her...

Thanks, I do too. I just love how brightly coloured they (and other equally gorgeous morphs) can get :D And to think, it was a toss up ebtween a brightly coloured corn and a mexican black kingsnake ;)

Two pics of me trying to get lovely head poses (not quite succeeded but came close):

Thank you, he used to be so itty bitty & now... I'm so proud of the growing lad ;)

When he starts getting bigger I'm going to remove (and 'file' down any sharp bits left) that part in the skull's nose just to be on the safe side.

Also getting moved back to aspen soon, I don't like the chips as much and I'm pretty sure he misses the ability to burrow :p

I should probably explain my absence... Leonidas escaped. I went away for a week on a driving course in June and left it to my grandad to keep an eye on him water wise etc. Somewhere between him doing his water Thursday 19th & me coming home Friday he got out (opening the tank lid himself because my grandad swears it was closed properly *rolls eyes*) and of course that was at the start of when we had really warm weather - so looking for him in warm places was a no-go.
That Friday I tore the place apart (literally in the case of the bottom of my sofas) but no joy. I got out the flour that night - kept the doors to living-room & kitchen closed too and used the mouse I had bought for him before I got home as bait.
Since then I've done the bottle traps thing, left water out with flour around the bowls and put out the heat mat with hides on it along the sides of rooms. Unfortunately it's been so warm recently that the heat mat is kinda pointless :(
I could swear that he's under the kitchen cupboards but I can't rip out that bit as a) I won't be able to put it back & b) I rent, my deposit will go bye-bye - but that's the only place left I haven't been able to check.

I am beyond heartbroken that his tank is still on top of the bookshelf but empty, it's just not nice to think he could be somewhere else outside the flat or may have run into difficulty somewhere & passed away.
