Lacy OPENED her own tub!

Jrgh17

Are we there yet?
Two days ago, Lacy, my hondo, escaped. I woke up in the morning to find her tub slightly open and no snake. Of course, I thought that when I was cleaning water bowls and stuff, I accidentally left it open a tiny bit, and she was able to get her nose in there. I found her yesterday, curled up in one of my shoes, and returned her to her tub. I made a DISTINCT effort to push the tub all the way to the stoppers in the back.

Tonight, I WATCHED her open her own tub. Somehow, she was able to push at the very top edge and get enough leverage to work one of the corners open.

I now have bungee cords holding her tub in place. :grin01: Try to get out of there now, wench!

Glad you found her and found out how she got out...Now you don't have to worry about her escaping again...Unless she learns how to undo bungee cords with her tail..lol

That's how I had early escapes, then I started putting bulldog clips on the tubs, which held everyone but my king, Skeeter. For him I also had to add bungee cords until I made the new rack with small enough clearance that the lids just can't open 'in-shelf'

See, that's the thing... my rack has very little clearance. Lacy is actually sliding the tub OUT, not just pushing it up.

Okay... I don't think anyone is getting what I'm saying. There is less than an 8th of an inch clearance between the shelf above on my rack, and the rim of the tub. Lacy is a 300+ gram milksnake. She isn't pushing up the lid of the tub; There is no lid. She was actually able to open the drawer.

Nope, I got you, and it's impressive of her. I was commenting on my preparedness for having a very determined escape artist.

I'm glad you found her! I use bungee cords on all my enclosures. I don't think I'd ever go without them anymore...LOL.

I'm sure Lacy is wondering why in the devil the lid isn't opening like it did before..:)
