haha wow, i kind of know what the original poster means though, i live in a small town on the coast of BC, and for the last few years we have been getting a LOT of extreme weather. within a 2 day span we had 1.5 feet of snow (that's 18 INCHES), and we had winds up to 100km/hour. AND THEN, we had 250 millimeters of RAIN! it was INSANE! definitely the whole town freaked out then. but i know what yous are saying about places reacting differently to snow. it just seems like everything turns to pandemonium when that fluffy stuff falls from the sky. when really, it's just a matter of careful driving (which includes making the decision of weather or not it's actually safe to drive), and....drum roll please........... WINTER TIRES! sooooo many people try to navigate without winter tires! these are the idiots that end up in the ditch! they have actually started roadblocks that check for winter tires now! no winter tires, no into town, and no out of town.
we've had days where they nearly close the highway, because people are such IDIOTS at driving, and on pretty much any given snow day there's tons of cars in the ditch on the highway. OY. so yeah. i could see how it could make a person crazy. even just a little bit.
but on a lighter note, in my area, most of the main snow (roads/sidewalks) is for the most part RAINED away within a week or two. unless it snows, rains, and then freezes again

. then we sometimes get the whole town covered in a sheet of us. not fun for pedestrians!
