What is everyone's experience with taming AOs? I here they are ravenous eaters, which I like, but I also don't want him latching on to my nose everyday. LOL! :eats02:
 
Mine isn't that bad. He only gets testy AFTER he eats and while digesting for some reason. Like he's sweet when he wants something!
 
Is it true that Okeetees are generally more high strung and hand shy than other morphs/lines? I don't know if this is true or not, I just read that somewhere. :shrugs:
 
Here is a dated picture of my May '08 Abbott's. He's very friendly, easy to handle, and a voracious eater (except for the past few month when his cage temp dropped to the low '70s. His UTH still is set between 80 and 85 degrees, but with the house temp a little lower during the winter he only ate about once every two weeks. His appetite has returned, however.

Lee picked "Kernel" out for me. He was very easy to deal with.

Hah! I am getting an Abbotts and I considered the same name! Still brainstorming though. Lee is sending mine (he said Jun '08 yearling, maybe they were born at the same time?) on Monday. I should get him Tues morning.

I have an Abbott from Lee. He is my best handler. My only corn who came out of his deli cup the day he was shipped and totally couldve cared less. All my others were scared and went into hides right away, he checked everything out, including me. Hes a sweetie.

Sadler is from Lee. He is a June 07. Lee was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Not to mention his snakes are gorgeous! I actually got to pick Sadler out. Sadler, like most of Lees Abbotts has the bright yellow all the way down his sides.

When people see my collection, I have to say Sadler is always everyone favorite.

Did he have the parents marked on the container? I believe mine might be a sibling.
 
Thanks everybody for sharing your experiences, and posting your beautiful pictures. :crazy01: You all have convinced me in going with Lee. You guys are absolutely right about Lee, we've been e-mailing each other and he is a gentleman & a scholar.
 
Here is our little Marley that we got from Lee. You have to admit he has got some great looking snakes. She is not shy at all, she's always out and about her viv. And as far as eating, not a problem at all.

One and a half more days to get through! I am on vacation now, that is the only reason I haven't had him shipped earlier. I bought him another fake vine on vacation. I hope he is clutch mates with those guys, they're gorgeous!
 
You are really going to love it! He marks the parents' codes on the deli cup so you can look them up on his site.
 
Well, we will have to get the family "together" sometime for progression pictures. Here are more recent shots of "Kernel." He's about 90 grams, and a little over 26 inches long. His growth slowed over the winter, as his viv cooled a little bit and he only ate about every two to three weeks, but his appetite is back and I expect his growth to pick up again.

Kernel's borders are AWESOME! I'll be getting my 09 baby at the end of the summer. I hope she's related to Kernel. :D
 
Yeah, I'd like to do the progression thread. Good idea! What size mice are you feeding Kernel? I figure he's about a month older than my guy, and Lee said he is on large fuzzy mice or hoppers (anything smaller than a half grown mouse is what he said).

My guy is on his way right now, hopefully here by noon tomorrow! Snake on a plane!!
