Hello i Bought myself a Female Adult Snow recently and when i Bought her the guy told me she was Gravid and was Due to lay in about a Week how True this is im not sure Because he thought she was Amel.
Anyways in preperation of Her laying i tossed in a Lay box waited a week and nothing well i decided to try and feed her see if she would eat and she did. well this was 2 MONTHS ago. my Question is how long can she Keep her eggs if she is truely Gravid befor this Becomes a Serious Problem for her.

Two months is about average to be gravid. If she doesn't lay 'em very soon, she probably ain't gravid. Do you have a picture of her, preferably a full body shot?

ok these Pics arent the best

Duno if these will work but Hopefully they do

She doesn't really look gravid from the pictures. She doesn't even look all that fat, as in overweight and mistaken for gravid. As far as can be told from those pics, I would say she's not gravid after all. Sometimes snakes will reabsorb the eggs, so it's possible she had eggs but now doesn't. Or maybe she was about as gravid as she was amel. ;)

Btw, she's very pretty. She doesn't look like she has any yellow. I'm not up on the more complicated morphs, but my snow has quite a bit of yellow, so I'm wondering if yours is one of the other white morphs, like a Blizzard.

thank you she is Very nive she only has 1 Spot of Yellow and thats on her Lower Jaw.

Thank you for your Input on this Situation aswell.

I wouldn't buy a snake at a show that someone said was gravid. Egglaying is very stressful for a female snake and the additional stress of going to a show and then changing owners is a recipe for disaster.

Having said that, it takes about 6 weeks to go from breeding to egglaying. There is usually a pre-egglaying shed around 10 days before the female deposits her eggs.

The snake in the photos does not look gravid.

She sure is pretty! One way to feel for eggs is to set her on the carpet. Start up at her neck, and let her crawl slowly through your second and third fingers on her belly, and your thumb on her back. You can put just enough pressure on her to be able to feel eggs if there are any. Don't _squeeze_, just apply enough pressure that she can still move forward, but she isn't gliding rapidly over your fingers. You ought to be able to feel eggs from the mid-point down, if there are any.

I agree that snake is not gravid and you may want to have her probed to be sure she is indeed a she. Sounds like the former owner knows more about la la land than corns.

just a bit of Side info we actualy bought her off a local guy who said he had Bred her Previosly Dont know how true that is Seeing as how he said she layed 40 Eggs (ill belive it when i see it) and he had to sell her due to moveing

40? They'd have been itsy bitsy. I have heard of 32 in one clutch, but not 40. There was a snake doubled and had a total of like 70 eggs in one year, but that isn't the same. I'm sorry but the guy sounds hooky. Lovely snake though.
