I would guess that a 1 ft. snake...

would be around 3-5 months old. Of course, it depends on how often it has been fed, too. Some breeders stick to the strict "one feeding a week" routine and those may be a little smaller.

And I don't think it matters what time of day you feed your snake.
 
It's hard to guess age based only on length. Some hatchlings are 12 inches the day they are hatched, and some are 9 inches... then their growth rate depends both on feedings and genetics. I think most corns hatch out between July and September, with a few late ones in October. If yours is only one foot now, I'd guess it was born late in the hatchling season.
