A sturdy wall shelf come to mind. You could even hang supports from the ceiling to help it out.

Oh dear, Lenny, I wish you hadn't said that. I am not good with woodworking, so building a rack is probably beyond me. I am, however, quite good at mounting sturdy shelves. Do you realize I could probably put 3-4 vivs in the kitchen and 2 in the bathroom! This would let me expand BEFORE I can afford to drop the $$ on a rack next year.

Buy a wall-mounted kitchen cupboard and replace the wooden doors with sliding glass doors?

Well my reply was to ROYMONKEY and I was just giving a very general idea.

If "Roy" used a wall shelf that was wide enough for the tank/tub/whatever and was still scared that the weight would tear if from the wall. You could still add support straight down from the ceiling and attach that to the front edge of the wall wall shelf to help support it. But.....
The shelf would have to be low enough to see and "work" the tank so the ceiling brackets would be an eye sore to say the lest.

Kitchen cupboards are generally built from pretty solid melamine and get filled with tins - that's probably more than a snake's tank will weigh. Just need to look at how they're securely mounted on a wall and you're sorted.

modified wall mounted flat screen TV stand ?
those TV's are quite heavy , but the wall mounted stands can support a lot, idk the specifics but I'm sure you could jerry rig something up.

I've built wall-mounted cabinetry, so I'm sure it can be done. The cabinetry to the left and right of the kitchen door as well as the wall cabinets over the sink are all made from 3/4" cabinet-grade plywood. The trick will be to build a "cabinet" that is sturdy enough to be hung being as deep as you will want it to be from front to back. Normal cabinets are not nearly as deep as a tub. But if you want something the shape of a 20gal long aquarium, that'll be easy. Hanging a rack from studs in the ceiling though, would also work, so long as your suspension mounts are through the sides of the cabinet and not just the top.
