Batman Rules
Hey

Elwood is about 8 months old and he is still freakin out when i go to pick him up, he's not to bad once i have hold of him but some days he just wants to shoot off exploring and he's very jumpy when holding him. is this right an he'll calm down or is that just his temperment.

Also the last couple of times i have tried feeding him he wont take the mouse in the feeding tub or off the tongs. I have to put the mouse on a hide i turned upside down an leave it in the viv. is this ok or is it a practice i shouldnt get him use to?

Cheers

Nik

its nice when they will just snatch the prey out of the tongs, but putting it on a hide is better than him not eating at all. Your snake should calm down after a while if it is held at least 2 times a week.

mine

When I first got mine, Scotch, he was trying to escape everywhere. Now, after 4 months today, He has gotten SOO much calmer and If I have a long sleeve shoirt on He will go up and sit in the sleeve and peep his head out. He just sits there for as long as I will let him. Mabe yours feels ensecure? try letting him go up in your sleeve?

I don't know if this will work.

My 2 try and get away when i take them out off the viv but once they are out they are fine. With regards to the feeding, my sully doesn`t always take her mouse. I cover her tub with a towel and leave her a while and when i go back the mouse has gone.

That's how my Diabla was, I think what the other members said is true, handle him often but too much to the point where he stresses out, also I don't know if this would work with yours, but with Diabla I handled her in an environment close to her own, I would shut off the lights and be very gentle, as not to startle her. I also think that long sleeve shirt idea is wonderful I might have to try that with my new normal, seeing as how Diabla is nowhere to be found.
Chao!
