Lizard with swollen hemipens

waldo

Crazy Tarantula Lady
I picked up a little male dragon today from the local pet store, he is probably around 3 months, a tad on the small side though plump and healthy.
When I was sexing him, I noticed one of his "bumps" (hemipens) is slightly swollen. Nothing is sticking out of his vent but it does appear to be slightly painful as he wiggles around if I touch it. The other side doesn't bother him nor is it swollen.
Has anyone seen this before? Any idea what I can do to help him out?

dragon im guessing bearded or water? so id say take him to a vet asap. i have not heard of this really at all and it might be infected that you cant see. i would be going to the vet is all i can think.

Had an issue similar with a leo. We had him given to us. One of his was infected, swollen and protruding. He had surgery and it was amputated. He has been great ever since, I felt his pain. Ouch!

Yeah, I'm calling a vet later today to see what she thinks.

If it is a infection, its not real bad yet and its not protruding at all.
