Loose scales

One of my corns has loose scales, is this a problem? Is it from rubbing backwards on something? I can't see any trace of mites, so I'm not too worried. This is the best shot i can get, it's like this over several areas, not on the belly though. From just below the head, halfway to tail. Small sections, like strips. :uhoh:

Mine get that from time to time. Do you have a paper towel tube that he jams up in?? That's usually when mine get it.

My boa gets them just from hanging out in a ball.

No paper towel tube, I'm currently isolating him/her in the tank he/she came in, which has a large exo terra hide, a piece of wood and a water dish. Lots of aspen in there too, about 5-6 inches. There was a LONG piece of arbutus wood in there, which had somewhat rough edges on it, but I've since taken that out, bleached, baked and cut it into 3 pieces and put in my rack (1 per tub, for the snakes that don't have a bark hide, gives them something to rub against.) So basically, it's normal, the snake will shed it out?
