Lots-O-Mice DUW

Wow, those are gorgeous mice. I love that little broken brindle with the white spot on her/his back. Also the "hippy" (angora) is just amazing--what lovely spiky long fur. What luck to find that in your genetic stock.

Just one question: How can you hold those utterly sweet and adorable, intelligent, curious, and mild-mannered little critters in your own hands knowing they're doomed for snake food? :shrugs:

I know a snake's gotta eat, and I know someone's gotta breed the food, and I'm glad there are folks who can. 'Cause I sure can't. My mice are pets (well, except the dozen or so in my freezer that someone else bred). :p

Thanks for sharing your pics. I'm tempted to come steal some mice for my personal collection. :p

Sure. Sundays are usually best. Just shoot me a message when you want to come over.

Cool Mice !!!

Where did you get all those fancy varities of mice from ?

Do you use the cat litter tray set up for breeding mice, or tanks ?

I would love to see some pics of your Mice breeding set up, Building , cages , etc !!

Thank you! =)

Sorry it took so long for me to see this. Most of my mice came from East Bay Vivarium in Berkely, CA. Every once in a while I'll buy 10 to 20 males just to throw some new blood in there. I have two racks and 4 holding bins. One of the racks does use cat litter trays. It has 4 trays across and 8 levels high. My other rack is a Freedom Breeder half rack that I bought used. I'll take some pics of the racks soon and post them here.

such cute mice... can I buy some from you? :D
Thank you! :) I'd be more than happy to sell you some mice but you're too far away. :( I checked into shipping mice and found that it cost too much. I think it was like $200 for 15 mice. Too expensive in my opinion.

:eek1: dang... what a shame, cause Im having a heck of a time finding fancy mice here by me. Do you think reptile shows would sell live fancy mice? Im thinking of going to the Hamburg show in april. Well at least I can look at the pics of your cute mice and dream. I really like that solid black hippy one.. I think they call that a Frizzie?

At my local show, the feeder breeders sell all kinds of different colors and types of mice, usually for about $0.50 - $0.60 each for adults

hhmm I'll have to check out the local show by me.... see if there is a list of vendors. where are you located?

Chicago. Nowhere near PA. I don't breed mice any more though, doing African Soft Furred rats now, they smell less, but they bite. Makes it a lot easier to feed them off.

lol.. oh well.. was worth asking. I'll just have to keep looking and hope the local rep show sells fancy mice. If I am going to get "stuck" with live ones because my snakes decide they don't want to eat on their scheduled day, well at least let the mice look nice. thanx though.
