It was a nice day on the Fourth, so I took Lucy outside to enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells.

:D

She's getting bigger!

Beautiful snake; is she really a creamsicle? Looks more like a hypo to me.... but I'm no expert =/

Either way, she's gorgeous :)

Hi

A quick question: When she was younger did she have more pronounced white (or transparent) borders which gradually disappeared? Or has she always been essentially just the two colours? I note a small amount of white now.

I only ask because my Rubes is turning a deep orangy colour and is starting to look very similar at the head end, although she's practically an RO at the tail. Take a look - http://cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69984

Thanks.

This is Kathy Love's photo of Lucy:

Looks like she did have some translucent-ish borders.

Lucy was 4 months old when we acquired her and she had a few speckles of white here and there, but it's definitely become more pronounced as she's aged. :)

Roughly 5-6 months old in this shot.

Lucy is 2 years old now.

Thank you. Rubes has a bit more white than Lucy ever did, so she may hang on to it. Beautiful snake by the way! So maybe I've got an almost-creamsicle!

(OK, I know she's just an amel...)

:grin01: Being an Amel isn't all that bad.

Thanks! It's been neat watching how she gets more yellow as time goes by.

According to her breeder, Kathy Love, she's a creamcicle.

Thanks!

I'm definitely not going to argue with the breeder! I just thought she looked brighter, but I've only seen example pictures of various morphs :shrugs:

Still a very lovely snake :) I can't wait to get my own

From what I've seen/read creamsicle is more a description of the genetic mixing of cornsnake with ratsnake and not the specific appearence with can vary widely.

True. A Creamsicle is a Cornsnake with Emory blood but ... the name "Creamsicle" also denotes that it is an Amel.
Non-Amel Cornsnake x Emory have different names.

There would be a perfect example of a creamsicle that looks like a normal every day run of the mill Amel.

Nice looking snake. Thanks for sharing.
