I've just adopted my first snake, a darling little snow corn snake. I'm trying to do my best as a beginner, and this forum has helped a lot, thanks!
I'm wondering, though. The snake is in my room, which is at the top level of the house, and it's always pretty warm up here. The temperature at the top of the substrate is around 78-82 degrees F during the day, without a heat lamp or pad.
Does this mean he's okay without a heat source? I've got a heat lamp, but I'm concerned that this makes it too warm.
What should I do? Do I leave the viv as it is, or do I need to turn the lamp on half of it? Or maybe even cool one side off? Sorry for the noob question, but I appreciate everyone's help! ^^;;
