Nearly 3 weeks ago i bought a hatchling Snow corn, the pet store sent her home with a pinkie as they said it was feeding time, she refused the f/t, 5 days later she refused another f/t, 5 days later again she took a live pinkie, i thought great, 2 days later i find it regurged in the front of the tank?

Can i wait 10 days to try again as per a regurge or is that too long as she has now not eaten for 3 weeks. :eek1:

BTW i did search , i got info on regurge , i could not find anything that was related to both regurge after 2 refusals.
 
Additional info, temps seem ok , same as my last corn that i had no trouble with feeding ever, pinkie i fed was a newborn so definatly not too small, in fact the lump it left was barely noticable so i thought it might be a little small.
 
OK 2 weeks not 3 my times been off lately, and the wife seems to have posted this in another tread too .. sorry :eek1:
 
OK so i know i shouldnt be handling her but she has now got what seems to be loose skin so i put her in a smaller container with wet paper towel to see if she needs hydration to shed.

Are these folds on her body from being thin or is it just a incoming shed? any ideads?

She looks dehydrated to me. I always put my babies face right up to the water every day. Alot of times they don't see the water. Mine usually drink 9xs out of 10. It also could be a bad shed. Make sure humidity is good in the tank by misting daily with water. Good luck!
 
Lengthwise is most likely from thiness. Sheds and dehydration usually run around the sides of the body in folds. Here's a good example of the side folds from impending shed.

So if its thin'ness do i try and feed her again sooner than 10 days after her regurge or is it not that bad yet? IM starting to get severely worried. Dehydration i can understand, i have since found that glass Temp above the UTH is too high and am in process of getting thatd own to safer levels.
Now its mentioned also i have noticed her drink twice after we put her back in her tank near the water bowl. How do you teach them where the water bowl is ?
 
Definitely wait the full 10 days, then feed her just half a pinky. If you feed her too soon, she could regurge again, and it'll be even longer until she can eat.

To get your temps down, you can go to a hardware store or Walmart type place and get a plug in lamp dimmer. Plug your UTH in to it and you can adjust the heat. You may want to get a thermostat later on, but this is something you can do now.
 
Update: She doesnt have the strange folds this evening, maybe being put in a box with damp paer towel earlier helped, ive put her back in the box again with warm water on paper towels again.

Yep yep the dimmer option is what im doing while i wait for the thermostat to come from herp store
 
How do i feed half a pinky when she refuses F/t the one time she did eat since we got her (before the regurge) was live.
 
If she'll only take live, you'll have to find the smallest one you can. A day old or something if possible. You might try putting one or two more water bowls in the viv to make sure she can easily reach some water to keep her hydrated. Good luck with her and definitely wait the 10 days.
 
So sorry to hear that. You did what you could for her. Most likely, there was already something wrong when you got her.
 
Yeah Im thinkin there was something wrong, The pet store apparently replace any pets as a kind of warrenty but im not sure if i want another that could be from same litter ( is it litter with snakes>? )
 
I would get another anyway. Chances that something is wrong with the entire clutch are pretty small. Just look over what they have and pick the healthiest looking one you see.

Good luck and don't let this one loss put you off snake keeping forever.
 
I never thought finding a tiny little dead snake would break my heart.. I just feel so horrid about it. I know we did everything we could, the tank temperature was right and we never had any of these problems with the other one which thrived in there.. she was just so pretty and so tiny.. poor little thing :(

Yeah I'm a flaming softie..I just hate to see anything that tiny just not have a chance at all :(
