I just picked up a new breeder male that I'm really excited about (Ultramel Stripe proven het anery/caramel) and in a perfect world, I have about 5 females that I would like to mate him with next year. Is that too much? I've never attempted to have a single male mate with more than three females before in the same season, and I wanted to know if anyone out there has done more, and how much, and if there are any issues to watch out for with overbreeding a male.
My other thought was that I might try to stagger bringing these females out of brumation by a couple of weeks, giving the male more time to get the job done. Does anyone have any experience doing something like that? Thanks all.
