Male or Female?

A.J.

Reptile Lover
I have a couple questions.

Which is better?
Do either get bigger than the other?
Do the females have an egg-bounding problem or anything?

Thank you so much! :)

It really doesn't matter unless you have breeding plans in the future. If you buy from petstores they are usually the same price but if you get from a breeder the females are about 10 dollars more. They have the same colors and get to about the same size.

i thought that mostly all corns over 5 foot are likely to be males, meaning they must generally get a little bigger than females, although i agree theres not much in it.

If you are simply looking to have a corn for a pet, either sex will do. It depends upon who you talk to as to which sex is larger. Personally, I've seen large and small snakes in both sexes. And there is always the chance of a female laying eggs even though she has never been with a male. The eggs will not be fertile so there is less chance of her becoming eggbound, but, again, there is a slight chance of egg-binding. And you have an increased chance that a male will go off food during breeding season, which can create some worry for you.

Yes, I am just looking for a pet, I have no plans of ever breeding him.

Thank you all for the replies :)
